Speaker Bio: Jack Eichorn is President and Director of High Desert Investment Corporation / Mariposa Community in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, where he is responsible for management of all corporate daily operations based out of on-site sales and information center.

Prior to being appointed President, Mr. Eichorn served as Senior Vice President and was responsible for the design and construction of all infrastructure for the community.  He also served as President of Mariposa Community Association and manage daily operations including supervision of staff for the community center which is open to owners daily.

His previous positions held have been Project Manager for the 43 acre Sycamore Plaza development consisting of 277,000 square feet of retail, where he was responsible for on-site and off-site  development improvements.  From 1991 – 1993, Mr. Eichorn served as the Construction Project Manager for the 34 acre Towne Park Plaza Retail Center in Albuquerque, where he was responsible for overseeing all on-site construction and all off-site roadwork improvements.

Mr. Eichorn holds a Bachelor of Science- Industrial-Construction Management from Colorado State University, Ft. Collins, Colorado. His community involvement includes: Board Member and Treasurer of Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of Rio Rancho Economic Development Corporation, as well as a Member of NAIOP, ULI, and New Mexico Home Builders Association. Mr. Eichorn also serves as Board Member/Vice Chairman for Special Olympics New Mexico.

Event: 2012 Special Olympics New Mexico State Summer Games

Date: Saturday, May 19th



Time: Three shifts from 7:30am-5:00pm
Location: UNM Track Stadium

We will again be volunteering at the Special Olympics Summer Games acting as escorts and hosting an activity tent.

YPA volunteers will have the option to sign up for one or more shifts.
Shift 1: 7:30 am – 11:00 am
Shift 2: 10:30 am – 2:00 pm
Shift 3: 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm
* Two Team Captains will be needed for each shift (1 for Escorts & 1 for Activity Tent).  If you are interested in being a Team Captain, please let indicate that when you sign up.

  • Water will be provided throughout the day, as well as lunch for those volunteers who are on shift during the lunch hour (Shift 2).
  • YPA will provide breakfast to the morning shift (Shift 1) and snacks to the afternoon shift (Shift 3).

Speaker Bio: Sally Adams is a native New Mexican. She has been an active member of our community for over 22 years, volunteering in organizations affecting young people and the growth of business in Albuquerque and in New Mexico.

She is the current President of Clear Channel Outdoor in New Mexico where they donate nearly 700k worth of billboard space to over 50 local non-profits each year. She was awarded the US Attorney General’s Citizen of the Year in 2004 in recognition of her work in helping to create an awareness campaign for Project Safe Neighborhood (a national and local neighborhood crime clean up program).

She is the past chair of Albuquerque Economic Development, the past chair for the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau and is past chair for Junior Achievement of New Mexico, an enterprising non-profit bringing mentors and business volunteers into the classroom. She also serves on the board of Wesst. Sally was awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service Award from President Bush personally in August of 2005 for her work in Junior Achievement.

She began her career working for Donrey Media Group, spending several years in Las Vegas. The was promoted to GM of that plant and then returned to Albuquerque to run the Clear Channel plant in 2001.

Help support Albuquerque’s children while playing a favorite game of our youth! The Young Professionals of Albuquerque will be fielding a team for the Kickball 4 the Kids adult kickball tournament to benefit local children’s charities including Playworks.

$35 per player 

The team will be capped at 10 players and will be filled on a first come-first serve basis. The fee includes your team t-shirt and sponsor gifts.

Two shifts: 9am – noon & 1–4 pm

A BBQ lunch will be provided to all volunteers from 12 – 1. 

Volunteers will work at ARCA’s Career Enhancement Services (ACES) building to “spruce things up.” Activities include:

  • Painting walls
  • Providing décor
  • Providing other items that would help with day activities such as games, puzzles, books, art supplies, etc.
  • Other miscellaneous projects

Donations will be accepted from YPA members for project supplies. Details coming soon.

About ARCA: ARCA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing premier services for people with developmental disabilities. Founded in 1957 by families seeking community recreation and inclusion opportunities for children, ARCA is now the largest private nonprofit service provider of its kind in New Mexico. ARCA’s  critical supports to infants, children and adults of all ages include community and family living, employment and vocational, literacy education and evidence-based health promotion, foster care of special needs children, and community inclusion services. ARCA provides services daily to almost 600 children and adults with developmental disabilities primarily in the greater Albuquerque area.
